The Pioneer - 1976. "Henri Kaltreiter (#113) served in the Navy during the Revolution and was mustered out as a Rear-Admiral.

He settled in the heart of a German community in Baltimore County, Maryland. He was the father of two sons, Henri and Freiderich.

Henri (#57), or Henry, moved to the Shenadoah Valley where he met his future wife, Eleanor Love (#58)."He then emigrated to the Buckhannon area, building his house on the banks of the river about a mile south of the present city limits."He applied for a marriage license at Weston, Lewis County, but since he spoke English with a German accent, the clerk could not understand the spelling of his name. Gather Kemp was asked to interpret and spelled the name "Henry Colerider".

"Henry and Eleanor Love Colerider were the parents of three Children, Mary, Edward (#29), and William.

"Mary Colerider married William H. Williams, Edward married Jemima Reger (#30), and Henry (#15) married Alma Payne (#16)."

Mary Colerider, the daughter of Edward Colerider and Jemima Reger Colerider, Married Quillen B. Young. They lived at French Creek many years and were the parents of Alton Claude, married Irene Sword; Myrtle, married Clarence See; Alma, married John Van Tromp; Clay, married Helen Haas; Clyde, married Helen White; Charity, married Rawlis Dickinson; James, married Helena Kohier; Jay, died young; Marquerite; and Dayton, died young.

"William L. Colerider married Cassie (Cassa Ann) McWhorter of Harrison County. Their children were Eleanor, married Stewart Hyre; Amy, married A. J. Hosaflook; and Henry, married Vianna E. Abbott. His second wife was Sebra Kincaid, the daughter of Moses Kincaid of Monongalia County. Their children were William A., married Alice Rohrbough; Moses K., married Lillie Hamner; Clark, married Mollie McCoy; Mary, married William Kiddy; Guy, married Roxanna Landis; Bell, married James Smallridge; and Frank, married Mary Rexroad."

[Susan Snyder's note about the preceeding information: There is confusion in the 5th blue paragraph above: Edward, Henry's son, did marry Jemima Reger. But, it was Henry's and Eleanor's grandson, Henry, that married Alma Payne.]
