Leach Family Bible 1854

This 1854 copy of the Holy Bible belonged to Daniel Brown Leach (photo at right). He was born October 4th, 1824 and was the son of Elihue Leach (brother of Amos (#33) ) and Marinda Brown. He was the bookkeeper for his father-in-law, William Odell, in Odell's store in Tarrytown, NY. The Bible is presently in the possession of John Aitken Sneden in NC.

The page below lists Elihue Leach's birth as March 25th 1797. Below Elihue's name is his wife: Marilda Brown. Other Leaches on this page are believed to be Elihue's children and grandchildren. One of the names is Daniel B. Leach, who owned this Bible. The Browns are related to Daniel's mother, Marinda. The Odells are related to Daniel Leach's wife, Ann Janette Odell.

Below, beginning with the last three names in the first column are the children of Levi (#65) and Sarah Leach (#66): Amos Leach (#33) January 8 1789, Noble Leach October 20, 1791, Leman Leach June 16, 1793, Olive Leach February 16, 1795, Elihue Leach March 25, 1797, Mercy Leach January 26, 1799, Harvey Leach February 28, 1801, Martin Leach May 18, 1803, Almon Leach April 16, 1807, and Triphena Leach November 22, 1808.

Below and to the side of that listing are marriages that occurred in the 1850s and are presumed to be the weddings of their children, including that of Daniel B. Leach to Ann Janette Odell on June 1st 1858.
