Joseph Kenney (#37)'s Wives

In February, 2020, the following information and documents were collected by Doug Hart, another descendant of Albert Gillespie Kenney (#19).

Joseph Kenney, was father of two sons by his first wife (Francis "Fanny" More/Moore (#38)), 4 daughters by a second wife (Susan Buzzard), and 3 step children by his third wife (Ann Chappelear (Windle). He outlived his first two wives and was survived by his third.

Documents proving Joseph's three marriages are below:

 

Page 96 of the Marriage Register No. 1- Frederick County, Virginia shows Joseph's marriage to Frances Moore on August 12, 1802. In the column labeled "Name of Minister," it states "Bond Book Anthony Moore, Surety." Anthony Moore (#75) was Frances' father.

Although Doug Hart could not find an actual marriage document for Joseph and Susan Buzzard, he did find the following document that proves Joseph had been Susan's husband. On February 19, 1821, Joseph was appointed the guardian of their four daughters.
