daughter's Guardianship papers
Below are two guardianship papers, dated 20 May 1822 and 15 August 1825 that were filed in Guilford County, North Carolina for Nancy Cunningham by James Finley. [Note: Nancy was only ~4 when she was orphaned. Her mother (Mary Mitchell #108) died between 1817 when Nancy was born and before 1819 when her father married Mary Finley. Her father died in 1821. James Finley was the name of Nancy's step grandfather.]
