Henry Brookes' (#3,879) Property in Westmoreland County, Virginia

The first map below shows Henry Brookes' property acquired circa 1654. Note the property borders both the Potomac River and Pope's Creek. At the bottom of this map, the caption explains the distribution of the property.

[Note: The webmaster of <http://www.susanleachsnyder.com/Genealogy> suspects the following: In the map above, Dorothy Brooks and Lydia Abbington are Henry's daughters by his first wife, Joane Saxton. Nicolas and Henry Saxton are likely related to Henry through marriage to Joane Saxton. Jane Higdon (#1,940) is Henry's daughter with his second wife, Jane Rokeby (#3,880). David and Robert Wickliffe are Henry's step sons by his marriage to Jane Rokeby. "Joanne Brooks" is likely Henry's second wife, Jane Rokeby (#3,880).]

Below: Map Sections 5 and 7 show Henry Brookes' Patent March 18, 1662. Henry's property is highlighted in yellow. Pope's Creek is blue. These sectional maps show details of Henry's immediate community.
