Miscellaneous:

Johannes arrived at Philadelphia, PA. The port of embarkation was Rotterdam, Holland. The Shipmaster was the David Crockatt Galley Pink Johnson. He arrived on 18 September 1732. He originally settled in Lancaster Cty, PA. Judith's Baptismal [Note: Judith was his daughter] was on 9 August 1734 in Oley, Berks Co., PA. Johannes raised his family in Berks Co. where he lived of the west bank of the Schuylkill River.

Another source states, “On September 18, 1732, Johannes and Anna Barbara Albrecht (Albright) migrated from Germany aboard the JOHNSON GALLERY of London [David Crockatt, commander] and settled in Berks County, Pa. Their children were Matelina (1716-1784), Barbara (1719-1802), Christian (1726-1784), Jacob (1727-1791), Ludwig (1731-1810), and Judith (1734-?). Two of his sons, Jacob (#197/217) and Ludwig (#221), migrated to Orange County, N.C. about 1763 and settled along the Alamance and Stinking Quarter Creek. (This area became a part of Alamance County when the county was founded in 1849). Their sister, Barbara, and her husband John Foust followed then to Orange County about 1767. ............ " Copied from Alamance County The Legacy of its People and Places, Page 27.

[Note: On The Johnson Galley:
The Johannes Albright may have been Johannes Albright (#393/433/441). It lists him as above 16 years of age on the ship. Johannes would have been about 30 years of age. An Anna Albright was listed as a woman over 14 years of age. Anna Albright (#394/434/443), Johannes wife would have been about 30 also. The Jacob might not be Jacob Albright (#197/217) because according to Russell Leach (#3), he was not born until 1748 and he was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania. However, other sources including a tombstone indicates that Jacob was born in 1729. He would therefore have been 3 years old. Johanne may have been Jacob's brother, John. Johanne is listed in the column: Boys under 16. According to ancestory.com, John was born in 1726. He would have been 6 years old. Lodawick Albright might have been Ludwick (#221), another of Jacob's brothers. Lodawick is listed in the column: Boys under 16. Ludwick was born in 1731, so he would have been about 1 year of age. Barbara Albright was listed in the ship’s list as a girl under 14. She may have been Anna Barbara Albright, one of Jacob's sisters. She was born in 1719 and would have been 13 years old. There are also a Christiana Albright and Matelina Albright (girls under 14) listed on the passenger list. It is not known whether they might also be sisters of Jacob.]
Since this previous note, the following was located on ancestry.com "Family records and other data show that Christian was improperly listed; the correct name was Christian, the oldest son of this couple. The ages of the five children on arrival were: Matelina-16 (she was mistakenly listed as "under 14"), Barbara-13, Christian-6, Jacob-5, and Lodawick-10 months who was born November 11, 1731 in Ruttenberg, Germany." [Source: Christy Yates, posted on ancestry.com and refers to a series of published texts.]

Below: The passenger list of the Johnson Galley of London for September 18, 1732. The top page lists "Men Above 16" and "Women Above 14." The bottom page continues the list of "Women Above 14" and then lists "Boys Under 16" and "Girls Under 14." This list appeared in the Minutes of the Provincial Council, printed in the Colonial Records, Vol. III, p. 453.

Interestingly enough, Valentine Renner (#155), a relative of Susan Snyder (#2) was also on that ship.

[Note: It is also possible that the Johannes Albright on the Johnson might have been Johannes Albrecht (Albright), the brother of Hendrich Albright (#785/865/881). This is what one book on the Albright family (quoted on ancestry.com) states: “According to the story that has been handed down, almost all of the Albrights in this country trace their ancestry to three Albright brothers who came to America in the colonial times. The oldest of the three brothers settled in the eastern part of Pennsylvania. This brother, to my best knowledge, was Johannes Albright (Albrecht) who with his wife Anna, entered the port of Philadelphia October 19, 1732, on the Ship Johnson of Holland-Amerika Linie from Rotterdam. Their son, born near Pottstown, Pennsylvania, May 1, 1759, was the Reverand Jacob Albright who founded the Evangelical church in 1800. Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, bears that name in his honor.” [Note: The Johannes Albright buried at Fritz Cemetery, Little Oley, Berks County, Pennsylvnia might be another of this Johannes' sons. The Johannes Albrecht buried at Fritz Cemetery was born 7 November 1756 and died 19 July 1823. Fritz Cemetery is in Pottstown. ]

“One of the brothers settled in the western part of Pennsylvania. His descendants migrated to Ohio, Indiana, and other western states. The name of this brother is not definitely known. A.G. Albright says that the Hon. George Albright, a member of Congress and twice a delegate to the General Conference, was a descendant of this brother.”

“The third brother, Hendrich Albright (Albrecht) settled in America around 1725 near the present city of Albany, New York. Hendrich’s sons lived in New York and Pennsylvania. Three of his grandsons settled in North Carolina and practically all of the Alamance Albrights and those who migrated to the other southern states trace their relation to this Hendrich.“ The date here, 1725, agrees with Russell Leach’s (#3) research about when Hendrich arrived. According to Russell's research, Hendrich is Johannes Albright's (#393/433/441) father.]

John and Anna had six children: Magdalena Albright (Matelina "Magdalina"), John Christian Albrecht (Albright), Jacob Albright (#197/217), Ludwig Albright (#221), Judith Albright, and Anna Barbara Albright.
