Below: Transcription of Schedule for the Census Year 1870, ending 1 June 1870. [Note the age of Ellen [Glass] Sharp (#26) as recorded on this transcription is 55, but the age on the actual document and on her tombstone is 53.]
Below: Copy of Actual Schedule: Note: beside the red asterix, it says that Ellen Sharp aged 53 was born in North Carolina; She died in December, her occupation was "Keeping House", and the "Disease or Cause of Death" was "Suicide by drowning." There is other information written about her, but this cannot be read.
