Guardianship For Sarah Donnell's Girls 1862

Below is a document dated 19 February A.D. 1862 confirming that $6,000 was paid to the Court of Pleas of Guilford County, North Carolina in payment to the court appointing Daniel E. Albright (#23-c), Sarah Donnell (#28)'s brother, as the legal guardian of John Cunningham Donnell (#27)'s and Sarah's children, Mary Elizabeth Donnell (#14) and Sarah R. Donnell.

NORTH CAROLINA, GUILFORD COUNTY.
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we,

Daniel E. Albright & George Albright


All of said county, in the State aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto the State
of North Carolina in the sum of six thousand
dollars, current money, to be paid the State of North Carolina in trust, for the
benefit of the children herein after named, committed to the tuition of the said
E. Albright To which payment well and truly to be made
we bind ourselves, and each of us, each and every of our heirs, executors and
administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our
seals, and dated this 19 day of February A.D. 1862.

The condition of the above obligation is such, that, Whereas, the above-bounden
Daniel E. Albright is constituted and appointed GUARDIAN to
Mary E. Donnell & Sarah R. Donnell
minor orphan: Now, if the said D.E. Albright shall faithfully
execute his Guardianship, and particularly shall well and truly secure and im-
prove al the estate of the said children until
they shall arrive at full age, or be sooner thereto required, and shall render a
plain and true account of his Guardianship, on oath, before the Justices of our
said Court, and in all cases as required by act of Assembly, and deliver up, pay, or
possess the said children of all such estates as they
ought to be possessed of when lawfully required by said children
or to such other persons us shall be lawfully empowered
or authorized to receive the same, and the profits arising therefrom, then this
obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and Virtue
