________________________________
This cemetery
includes the remains of persons who were buried in old Cheshire Cemetery,
Berlin Township House Cemetery, and Blockhouse (AKA McNamara) cemeteries.
The remains from these cemeteries were relocated to this cemetery
probably when the Alum Creek Dam was built 1970-74. The cemetery sections
are labeled with signs. No Dunham tombstones are located in the Township
House or Blockhouse Cemetery sections, but there were many stones
labeled "Unknown" in those sections.
The
directory for Cheshire Cemetery lists 24 Dunhams. On one side of the directory are the alphabetized
names, section, lot, and space numbers. On the other side is the cemetery
directory map. Information and photographs for this website were collected
on 8 July 2007 by Susan L. Snyder and her husband, Jim.
Below in green is Information provided in an e-mail from Lee Ann Morris to Susan Snyder on March 10, 2009. Lee Ann obtained this information from the minutes of the reunions of the descendents of Jonathan Dunham and Lydia Butler. A family reunion takes place each August in Delaware, Ohio. [Note: Jonathan was the brother of Susan Snyder's ancestor Walter Dunham
(#35)]
